#
# Procedure to activate backup for a astium.
#
1: To enable astium backup for an astium we need the following information.

  a. Astium Serial (The ID in CMS). This must be entered into /etc/astium-serial;
this file probably doesn't exist yet.
  b. The password for user backups on the Astium backup server: bs.neonova.nl
(`fast bs.neonova.nl all`, look for the backup password).
You use this for activating the backup only.
  c. A valid astium backup password on the astium itself (By default this should
be set to the backup password generated by CMS).

2: Login on the astium backup server.
   # fast bs.neonova.nl

3: Add the Astiums' public address to /etc/ports.allow
   Restart de firewall.
   # /etc/rc.d/init.d/firewall restart

4: Login on the astium we want to backup:
   # ssh or fast to the astium or login on the console.

5: Run the following command.
   # /usr/local/astium/bin/astium-backup-activate # script wil ask for the backup password (see 1.b).
   # This script may not be installed yet. To install, do: yum install astium-backup astium-backup-client

6: Login on the astium backup server.
   # fast bs.neonova.nl

7: Run the following command:
   # /usr/local/astium/sbin/new-backupastium (command wil ask for the astium serial number)

8: Now we test if we can login on the backup server without entering a password.
   # ssh `cat /etc/astium-serial`@bs.neonova.nl -i /root/.ssh/id_dsa_astium_backup

9: To test the backup procedure, run the following command:
   # /usr/local/astium/cron/astium-backup.sh
You are ready if you see "Backup OK! :-)" This means the backup works.
Otherwise keeptrying until things work or ask the neonova helpdesk.

10: To make it a 10 step activation, now it works, drink some cofeee/thee etc...

#

You use this for activating the backup only.
